The Wilmington Preschool of the Arts
About Us
About Us
"Our 2 boys have been attending WPA since they were both around 2, now with our oldest 5 and in the Pre-K class, we’ve been a part of all 4 classrooms. We’ve loved our experience here! It’s a truly warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment. Our boys LOVE it here and look forward to school days!
Being a smaller school the teachers know all the students/parents and we’ve also made friends among the parent community. They learn, play, and are loved by this wonderful WPA family. We’re so happy we chose Wilmington Preschool of the Arts!"

"My 2.5-year-old daughter has been going to The Wilmington Preschool of the Arts since early summer (post Covid) and we love it there. They take the Covid guidelines seriously and every day our daughter gets her temperature taken a few times a day and they ask if she's experiencing any symptoms. We feel safe knowing they are being as careful as they can be given the circumstances.
One thing I love about this preschool is that it is small enough that all the teachers know your child. They all say hi to her and know we are her parents. With her individual teachers, they are great about communicating through the Brightwheel app. They send pictures and videos so it is great seeing what they are up to during the day. My daughter is really excelling there and her vocabulary has grown a ton. She brings art home every day and dances around from what she's learned in dance class. I recommend WPA to everyone I see on social media looking for a preschool. I can't say enough how wonderful it is."

Our Philosophy
Our Philosophy
By providing a setting which fosters self-esteem, builds confidence and is based on respect, it is our goal that the children will be empowered to take risks in their learning. Developing a profound respect for each child and understanding the important role played by his/her parent or guardian is central to our philosophy. We seek to establish a positive personal interaction with our children and we regard each child as an important, capable individual. We believe that young children are concrete learners who learn by doing. Children use all of their senses to explore and learn about their environment. They feel a sense of security from pattern, rhythm, and predictability within their days. Young children are looking to the adults in their lives to provide a safe and nurturing environment where they have lots of time for uninterrupted play, to participate in real-life activities, and to simply enjoy being a child.
